Light Labs' 2.0mL microcentrifuge tubes are a perfect fit for any lab. Several features make out microcentrifuge tubes stand out over other microfuge tubes. Our tubes have a glass-like clarity allowing researchers to easily see their entire sample. The tubes feature reference marks, they are fully autoclavable, and they fit all standard rotors. The tubes have a small cap, and open easily, eliminating the need for a large cap. Microcentrifuge tubes with smaller caps fit into rotors and racks side-by-side, whereas tubes with larger caps cannot fit into many racks and rotors.
Our 2.0mL microcentrifuge tubes are also some of the most durable tubes on the market. The microfuge tubes have an RCF rating of 30,000 x g, and a temperature rating from -180C to 121C.
One thing that we found while evaluating microcentrifuge tubes was that researchers are looking for tubes that open and close easily, yet still retain the ability to boil liquid without the caps popping open. Thus, the positive seal design that makes our tubes unique. The inside ring of Light Labs' microcentrifuge tubes is made of plastic slightly thinner than the rest of the tube. As the tube heats, the ring expands more rapidly than the rest of the tube, positively sealing the tube closed.
The 2.0mL microcentrifuge tubes are packaged in a box containing a bag of 400 tubes. The 2.0mL rainbow microcentrifuge tubes are packaged with each of four colors in separate bags of 100 tubes (400 tubes in all).
