The Excel Scientific TSA-100 ThermalSeal A™ is an advanced polypropylene PCR sealing film engineered for superior evaporation control and leak prevention in standard thermal cycling applications. ThermalSeal A films consist of 50µm thick clear polypropylene with a thicker 50µm layer of a stronger adhesive formulated for improved protection against evaporation and leakage during thermal cycling. Extra-Thick Conformable Adhesive for Strong, Reliable Seals The hallmark of the ThermalSeal A™ is its soft, extra-thick, conformable adhesive layer — double the thickness of the standard ThermalSeal adhesive. This formulation conforms tightly around raised well edges and irregular sealing surfaces, creating a robust seal that minimizes evaporation and prevents cross-contamination between wells during PCR cycling.

Designed for Raised-Rim & Flat-Top PCR Plates ThermalSeal A films are designed to fit inside the edge of raised-rim PCR plates and provide more secure sealing of all wells because the center of the film does not extend over the plate rim. Amazon Compatible with flat-top, semi-skirted, and full-skirted PCR plates, as well as hard-shell dual-component plates (e.g. polycarbonate/polypropylene).

Easy Positioning with Perforated End Tabs Two end tabs allow for easy positioning of the film on the plate but are perforated for easy removal if necessary. Amazon UK Removal of the end tabs before thermal cycling is strongly recommended to prevent film lifting and elevated evaporation at the plate rim. Each package also includes a sealing paddle to help ensure a firm, consistent seal across all wells.

Wide Temperature Range — PCR & Frozen Storage Rated from -40°C to +120°C, ThermalSeal A™ films perform reliably across the full range of PCR cycling temperatures and are suitable for sample storage in refrigerators and freezers.

Helpful Application Tips

• Select the correct film size for your plate format to minimize evaporation
• The film should not overhang or ride up the wall of a raised-rim plate
• More complete coverage of skirted flat-top plates will reduce evaporation in outer wells
• Always remove end tabs before thermal cycling for best results
