Product Description
The Hermle Z307 is a compact universal laboratory centrifuge designed for the broadest range of clinical, research, and industrial centrifugation applications available in its class. The Z307 offers many accessories, including rotors for microplates and high speed fixed angle rotors for microtubes and centrifuge tubes up to 50mL. The swing out rotors can load all common tubes such as blood collection tubes, 15/50mL tubes and even 200mL tubes. With a maximum speed of 14,000 rpm (18,624 xg), a massive 4 × 200mL swing-out capacity, RFID rotor identification, microprocessor control with 99-program storage, and a 5-year warranty, the Z307 is purpose-built to be the one centrifuge that does it all. Sold as centrifuge only — rotors and accessories sold separately.
Broad Universal Rotor Ecosystem — From Microplates to 200mL The Hermle Z307 Series is a compact and economical centrifuge with a series of rotor options making it well suited for clinical, industrial, and research laboratories. The Z307's rotor family covers the full spectrum of lab centrifugation needs:
- Swing-out rotors: Up to 4 × 200mL — accepts 16 × 15mL or 8 × 50mL with inserts, plus blood collection tubes
- Microplate swing-out rotor: Accepts 2 × 3 microplates (Z326-02MP) and deepwell plates — ideal for high-throughput screening and ELISA plate processing
- High-speed fixed-angle rotors: Up to 18,624 xg for microtubes (1.5/2.0mL)
- Fixed-angle rotors: From 1.5/2.0mL microtubes through 50mL conical tubes
This comprehensive rotor lineup makes the Z307 the only centrifuge many labs will ever need — consolidating multiple specialized instruments into a single compact platform.
RFID Rotor Identification — Automatic Over-Speed Protection The Z307 uses an automatic radio-frequency identification (RFID) system to provide immediate over-speed protection upon rotor insertion. The moment a rotor is placed in the Z307, the centrifuge reads its RFID tag and automatically applies the correct maximum speed limit for that specific rotor — preventing over-speed damage even if an operator manually enters an incorrect speed. This rotor-specific protection is a critical safety and instrument longevity feature that distinguishes the Z307 from non-RFID centrifuges.
Active Imbalance Detection — Rotor-Specific Cut-Off The Z307 features a lid lock and an active, rotor-specific imbalance identification system with automatic cut-off. Unlike generic imbalance detection systems, the Z307's imbalance monitoring is calibrated to the specific rotor in use — providing precise, rotor-appropriate sensitivity that minimizes nuisance shutdowns while reliably detecting genuine imbalance events from unbalanced loads or tube breakage.
Color-Coded Status Indicator + Audible End-of-Run Signal The Z307 includes a color-coded visual representation of the operating state (centrifugation, standby, or run completed) and audible end-of-run signals with various melody options. The color-coded status light allows users to monitor the instrument's state at a glance from across the lab — without needing to view the display panel. Multiple melody options for the end-of-run signal allow customization for different lab environments.
99-Program Storage Including Rotor Type The Z307 stores up to 99 complete run programs — including rotor type — allowing labs with multiple users and diverse protocols to save and recall every routine centrifugation method instantly. Program storage includes all relevant parameters: speed, time, acceleration, deceleration, and rotor-specific settings.
Splash-Proof, Glove-Friendly Touch Interface — One-Handed Operation The Z307 features a splash-proof digital display with a glove-friendly interface for one-handed operation. The splash-proof design is particularly valuable in clinical environments where the centrifuge may be exposed to biological fluids, and the glove-friendly interface accommodates standard lab and clinical gloves without requiring bare-fingertip precision.
Quiet Induction Motor — Under 63 dBA The Z307 is driven by a quiet induction motor with noise levels remaining under 63 dBA even at maximum speed. The maintenance-free induction motor requires no brushes or routine motor servicing — reducing lifetime operating costs and instrument downtime. At under 63 dBA, the Z307 operates quietly enough for open lab and clinical environments.
Improved Ventilation — Samples Stay Cool An improved ventilation system keeps samples cool, while the stainless steel chamber ensures durability and easy cleaning. The stainless steel rotor chamber resists corrosion from biological fluids and chemical spills, and can be wiped down or disinfected between runs without damage.
⚠️ Rotor Sold Separately The Z307 is sold as the centrifuge unit only. All rotors and accessories must be ordered separately. LIGHT LABS carries a full selection of Z307-compatible rotors including the Z327-200 (4 × 200mL swing-out), Z326-02MP (microplate), Z326-0650 (6 × 50mL fixed-angle), Z326-1215 (12 × 15mL), Z326-3015 (30 × 15mL), and high-speed microtube rotors.
