Pure•Amp™ PCR Sealing Films & Foils
LIGHT LABS carries the complete MTC Bio Pure•Amp™ line of PCR plate sealing membranes — five film and foil types designed for every PCR, qPCR, ELISA, and storage application. All Pure•Amp™ sealing membranes are compatible with standard 96-well and 384-well PCR plates, certified RNase-free and DNase-free, and guaranteed to maintain evaporation rates below 5% throughout thermal cycling and storage. Packaged in inner packs of 10 membranes for easy dispensing and to preserve sterility between uses. Available in both sterile and non-sterile formats.
Transparent PCR Sealing Film — P1001-PCR / P1001-PCR-S The standard transparent PCR sealing film is the go-to choice for routine thermal cycling applications. Featuring a standard adhesive formulation and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +140°C, P1001-PCR provides a reliable, secure seal for standard PCR plates across the full temperature range of most thermal cyclers. Supplied 100 films per pack (10 bags of 10). Available sterile (P1001-PCR-S) and non-sterile (P1001-PCR).
qPCR Sealing Film, Sticky Adhesive — P1001-Q / P1001-Q-S The optically clear qPCR sealing film with sticky adhesive is designed for real-time qPCR applications where maximum optical transparency is required for fluorescence detection. The sticky adhesive formulation (Bio-Rad® type) provides a strong, consistent seal across all wells while maintaining the optical clarity needed for accurate quantification on qPCR instruments. Temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Available sterile (P1001-Q-S) and non-sterile (P1001-Q).
qPCR Sealing Film, Pressure-Sensitive — P1001-QPS / P1001-QPS-S The optically clear pressure-sensitive adhesive qPCR sealing film (ABI® type) is engineered for real-time PCR instruments that require a pressure-activated seal rather than a sticky adhesive. Simply press the film onto the plate using the Pure•Amp™ multi-purpose tool for a uniform, bubble-free seal with no adhesive residue transfer. Temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Available sterile (P1001-QPS-S) and non-sterile (P1001-QPS).
Aluminum Sealing Foil — P1001-A / P1001-A-S The pierceable aluminum sealing foil is the choice for plate storage, sample protection from light, and robotic liquid handling applications where the foil can be pierced by pipette tips or robotic probes for direct sample access. The aluminum construction provides excellent barrier properties and is compatible with storage at temperatures as low as -80°C — making it ideal for long-term sample archiving in 96-well plates. Temperature range: -80°C to +120°C. Available sterile (P1001-A-S) and non-sterile (P1001-A).
ELISA / EIA Sealing Film — P1001-E / P1001-E-S The transparent ELISA sealing film is formulated specifically for plate incubation and storage applications including ELISA, EIA, and general plate storage. The adhesive is optimized for room temperature and refrigerated incubation conditions rather than high-temperature thermal cycling, making it ideal for immunoassay workflows that require secure plate sealing during extended incubation periods. Temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Available sterile (P1001-E-S) and non-sterile (P1001-E).
Pure•Amp™ Multi-Purpose Sealing Tool — P0800-TL The Pure•Amp™ multi-purpose tool is the ideal companion for plate sealing. The smooth edge applies uniform, consistent pressure across the sealing film when applied to a plate — ensuring a bubble-free, leak-proof seal across every well. The same tool also opens and closes PCR strip tubes with attached caps, separate cap strips, and individual tubes. Sold as a pack of 2.
