The B3D1320 is the preferred choice for labs requiring the superior foam-free, tri-directional 3D mixing of the nutating platform in a larger work surface that handles higher sample numbers or larger containers per mixing cycle without any compromise in mixing performance.
The BioMixer™ 3D produces a true 3D nutating motion — a continuously changing tri-directional tilting motion where the platform rotates around a central axis while simultaneously tilting — creating a complex figure-eight or circular wave pattern that provides fundamentally more thorough and uniform mixing than the simple side-to-side wave of conventional 2D platform rockers. This is particularly important for round-bottomed vessels such as blood collection tubes, microcentrifuge tubes, and 15 mL and 50 mL conical tubes where the nutating motion drives complete end-to-end fluid circulation with every rotation cycle — eliminating the settling at tube ends that even the best 2D rockers cannot fully prevent. The foam-free mixing action of the BioMixer™ 3D makes it ideal for protein-rich biological samples, serum, plasma, and other samples that foam readily under conventional agitation.
The 12" x 12" autoclavable dimpled rubber mat platform of the B3D1320 provides 44 square inches more working area than the 10.5" x 7.5" MiniMixer™ B3D1020 — enough to significantly increase simultaneous tube or vessel capacity for higher-throughput applications. The dimpled mat provides positive tube seating that prevents rolling and ejection during the circular nutating motion. Optional stacking platform available to further multiply working area.
