The Benchmark Scientific H3715 HS-10 Plus™ is a multi-functional hotplate stirrer designed to simultaneously heat and stir up to five sample vessels on a single large 10 × 10 inch white ceramic top plate — the only hotplate stirrer in its class that combines multi-position stirring capability with a full-size heating surface up to 400°C. Unlike traditional multi-position stirrers, the HS-10 model features a large (10 x 10 in.) square top plate that provides the flexibility to heat and stir larger sample vessels, up to ten inches in diameter (including 1 × 10L bottles). Digital speed and temperature control, a safety LED hot surface indicator, and optional external temperature probe compatibility make the H3715 the most versatile hotplate stirrer in the Benchmark lineup. 115V. The constant monitoring system provides precise control of temperature with rapid heating and faster boiling times. The advanced microprocessor continuously monitors and adjusts the heating element to maintain the set temperature with consistent accuracy throughout the run.
150 to 1,500 rpm Stirring Speed — From Gentle to Vigorous Mixing The H3715 delivers stirring speeds from 150 to 1,500 rpm — covering the full range from gentle, slow mixing of sensitive solutions through vigorous stirring of viscous samples and large-volume media. The powerful motor drive system ensures efficient mixing in larger and more viscous samples. The 15-liter total stirring capacity means the H3715 can maintain effective mixing even in the most demanding large-volume applications.
Digital Display — Speed and Temperature Always Visible Temperature and mixing speed can be viewed on the large digital display. Both set and actual values are continuously visible on the large digital readout — allowing operators to monitor performance at a glance without interrupting the run. Digital control eliminates the imprecision of analog dial-based hotplate stirrers, providing exact, repeatable speed and temperature settings for reproducible protocols.
Safety LED — Hot Surface Warning A safety LED illuminates when the top plate temperature exceeds 50°C. The safety LED provides a clear, visible warning that the ceramic surface is hot — protecting operators from accidental burns after runs are complete and the plate is cooling. This is a critical safety feature in shared lab environments where multiple users may approach the instrument without knowing its recent operating history.
Optional External Temperature Probe — Direct Sample Temperature Control An external temperature probe can be used for applications that require precise control of sample temperature. The probe provides direct feedback to the microprocessor with constant monitoring and adjustments for maintaining the selected sample temperature within ±1°C. The optional probe (H3770-TP, sold separately) allows the H3715 to control the actual temperature of the liquid in the vessel rather than the plate surface temperature — critical for applications where the difference between plate and sample temperature is significant, such as heating viscous solutions, large volumes, or samples in insulated vessels.
