The Vornado™'s most distinctive operational feature is its Insta-Touch™ pressure activation system — the motor is automatically activated the instant slight downward pressure is applied to the center cup head, and immediately ceases when pressure is removed. This touch-activated operation eliminates the need to reach for a power switch or toggle between on/off and continuous modes — the researcher simply presses down on the sample tube, and the Vornado vortexes. The result is an exceptionally fast, efficient, and fatigue-free pipetting workflow — particularly for labs performing repetitive tube-by-tube vortexing of large numbers of samples where the cumulative time and hand fatigue of traditional switch-operated vortexers is a concern.
Despite its compact footprint, the Vornado™ delivers genuine 2800 RPM vortexing power with a 4mm orbit — sufficient to instantly and completely mix the contents of tubes up to 50 mL, including nearly full 50 mL conical tubes that challenge lower-powered mini vortexers. The Vornado's unique cup head design prevents liquids from entering the motor housing even in the event of tube spills or overflows — prolonging motor life and protecting the instrument from liquid damage.
