The tubes are molded from high-clarity polypropylene for strength under centrifugation, rated to about 12,000 x g for 10 mL and 15 mL sizes, 15,000 x g for 50 mL and 17,000 x g for the low-profile 25 mL tube (water-density liquids with proper rotors and adapters). Tubes and caps can be frozen down to -86 °C, and flat-topped caps leave room for labels or marker notes. The 25 mL size shares the wide diameter of a 50 mL tube at a shorter height, and C2605 adds a skirted base so it stands on its own.
