The Sorenson Bioscience MultiMax™ B-2101 (manufacturer SKU: 2936T) is a 10µL extended-length (XL LongReach) barrier pipette tip — sterile, low-binding, and engineered for accurate micro-volume liquid handling in molecular biology, PCR, genomics, and any application where both aerosol contamination protection and maximum sample recovery from the tip are essential. Crafted from premium, low-binding virgin polypropylene, these tips are engineered for exceptional accuracy and precision. XL LongReach Format — Extended Length for Deep Vessel Access The "XL" in the B-2101 designation indicates the LongReach extended-length format — a longer tip body than the standard 10µL tip that provides greater reach into deep microcentrifuge tubes, deep well plates, narrow-mouth vials, PCR tubes, and other vessels where a standard-length tip cannot reach the bottom without contaminating the pipette barrel. The LongReach format is the preferred choice for molecular biology labs where micro-volume pipetting from small, deep vessels is routine — including PCR master mix preparation, enzyme addition to individual PCR tubes, and RNA/DNA quantification sample preparation.

Inert Hydrophobic Polyethylene Filter Barrier — Complete Aerosol Protection Your pipettor is protected from aerosol contamination by an inert, polyethylene filter matrix that takes potential contaminants out of the pipettor airstream. The hydrophobic filter barrier of the B-2101 is positioned to intercept and retain aerosol droplets generated during aspiration — preventing liquid aerosols from reaching the pipette barrel, internal components, and piston. Aerosol Barrier Will Not Trap Liquid — Safe Sample Recovery After Over-Pipetting Aerosol barrier will not trap liquid or contaminate samples in the event of over-pipetting. The inert polyethylene filter matrix of the B-2101 is hydrophobic and specifically engineered to intercept aerosols without retaining liquid — meaning that in the event of over-pipetting, liquid does not become trapped in the filter where it could introduce contamination into the next sample. Should over-pipetting occur, your sample can be safely and easily retrieved. 

Pure Polyethylene Filter Matrix — No Additives or Contaminants The filter matrix is pure polyethylene, free from additives, particulates, or contaminants that can alter sample integrity. Filter purity is a critical but often overlooked specification in barrier tip selection — filter matrices that contain additives, binders, or processing agents can leach contaminants into the airstream that inhibit PCR, alter enzyme activity, or introduce false signals in sensitive downstream assays. The pure polyethylene filter of the B-2101 eliminates this risk entirely.

Low binding tips not only facilitate volume recovery but the surface inhibits the binding of nucleic acids and protein.
