Phase separation is slow, messy and can skew small RNA profiles. This Zymo Research kit lets you load samples in TRI Reagent or a similar reagent straight onto a spin column, giving you up to 50 µg of high-quality total RNA, small RNAs included, in about seven minutes without chloroform or precipitation.
This listing is for catalog number R2052: Direct-zol RNA MiniPrep, 200 Preps. Apply the homogenate to a Zymo-Spin Column, then bind, wash and elute. Because there is no phase separation step, recovery of microRNAs and other 17 to 200 nt species is unbiased. The method works with cells, tissues, serum, plasma, blood and other biological fluids.
