Built on Hermle's proven compact centrifuge platform and manufactured in Germany by Hermle Labortechnik GmbH, the Z208-A delivers 200–6,000 RPM / 4,427 xg performance with the full suite of Hermle safety features, brushless motor technology, and compatibility with five interchangeable rotors covering tube sizes from 1.5 mL up to 50 mL. It is an ideal fit for clinical laboratories, cell culture labs, molecular biology research groups, and any setting that demands a capable, reliable compact centrifuge with a small benchtop footprint.
What's New in the Z208-A vs. the Z206-A?
The Z208-A is the next-generation successor to the Hermle Z206-A, and it brings three notable improvements:
Touchscreen Interface — The Z208-A replaces the conventional dial-and-button control panel with an upgraded ergonomic touchscreen for easy, precise control of speed, time, and acceleration/deceleration settings. Protocol setup is faster and more intuitive, reducing setup errors and simplifying training for new users.
LED Status Indicator Light — A new LED status indicator light allows lab personnel to monitor centrifuge status from across the room at a glance, without having to walk up to the unit to check the display — a genuinely useful quality-of-life addition in busy multi-user lab environments.
99-Program Storage — The Z208-A stores up to 99 custom programs, allowing each user or application to have dedicated, instantly recallable settings. For labs running multiple protocols across different sample types, this eliminates the need to manually re-enter parameters between runs.
All five rotors compatible with the Z206-A are also fully compatible with the Z208-A, making the new model a seamless upgrade path for existing Hermle compact centrifuge users.
