Product Description
Fast, powerful sample disruption that fits in the palm of your hand. The Benchmark Scientific D1000 Handheld Homogenizer uses a high-speed rotor-stator design to shear tissue, cells, and other samples, homogenizing most of them in 30 seconds or less. With a 130W motor reaching 30,000 rpm, it handles volumes from 0.1 mL in a microtube up to 250 mL in a beaker, depending on the generator probe you choose.
The variable-speed rotor draws sample into the generator probe and forces it out through the stator slots, shearing it with every pass. Six speed settings from 8,500 to 30,000 rpm are set with a convenient speed wheel. A separate on/off switch lets you keep your chosen speed between samples. The D1000 ships ready for microtube work with two autoclavable stainless steel generators: a 5 mm flat-bottom probe and a 7 mm saw tooth probe. Add the 10 mm or 14 mm generators for 15 mL and 50 mL tubes and larger vessels.
At about 1.35 lbs and under 70 dB, the D1000 is light and comfortable to hold, and quiet enough for shared lab space. It runs from +4°C to +65°C, so you can work in a cold room to protect heat-sensitive samples. The D1000 is backed by a 2-year warranty and available from LIGHT LABS, along with the full range of D1000 generators and the optional stand.
