Its powerful three-dimensional shaking motion drives hardened beads through each sealed tube at speeds up to 7.0 m/s, completely homogenizing most samples within 45 seconds. That's fast, consistent lysis for DNA, RNA, and protein extraction without the cleanup and cross-contamination risk of probe homogenizers.
The BeadBug 6 holds six 2.0 mL tubes, or two 5.0 mL tubes with the optional D1036-A5 holder for larger tissue pieces and bigger sample volumes. Digital controls set speed from 4.0 to 7.0 m/s in 0.05 m/s steps, cycle time from 1 to 90 seconds, and pause time between cycles from 0 to 90 seconds. Programs can run up to 10 cycles. Pausing between cycles lets heat dissipate, which protects temperature-sensitive samples during longer runs. You can store up to 50 programs, and the BeadBug 6 remembers your last settings for quick repeat runs.
