LIGHT LABS is proud to offer the Hermle Z446-K Refrigerated High-Capacity Benchtop Centrifuge (Cat # Z446-K), distributed in North America by Benchmark Scientific. The Z446-K has the highest capacity of any Hermle-Benchmark benchtop model. It handles up to 4 x 750 mL in a swing-out rotor, and with high-speed angle rotors it reaches 16,000 RPM and 26,328 x g. Its range covers everything from large-volume cell harvesting and blood processing to high-speed microtube pelleting, all in a single refrigerated benchtop unit. It is a true universal centrifuge for cell culture, molecular biology, clinical, and biochemistry labs.
The Z446-K is built around a powerful, maintenance-free induction drive and rotors of aircraft-grade, premium alloy. The 4 x 750 mL swing-out rotor accepts buckets and adapters for up to 48 x 50 mL conical tubes, 68 x 15 mL conical tubes, 84 x 10 mL tubes, 128 x 5/7 mL blood collection tubes, or 12 microplates. A broad selection of angle rotors covers bottles from 500 mL and 250 mL down to 50 mL and 10 mL tubes, microtubes, and PCR strips. Refrigeration holds samples from −20°C to 40°C, protecting temperature-sensitive proteins, cells, and nucleic acids during long or high-speed runs.
An automatic radio-frequency rotor identification system (RFID) recognizes each rotor and enforces its maximum speed for over-speed protection. A backlit, splash-proof LCD and microprocessor control make operation simple, and the unit converts automatically between RPM and RCF. Store up to 99 programs, including rotor information. Choose from 10 acceleration and 10 deceleration rates, including an unbraked deceleration option for delicate gradients and pellets. The timer runs from 10 seconds to 99 hours 59 minutes, plus continuous operation, with an end-of-run alarm. Noise stays below 65 dBA. Rotors are sold separately.
