The Orbi-Shaker™ BT3001 is built around the same 19mm horizontally circular orbit as the Jr and XL models — providing thorough mixing and aeration simultaneously in Erlenmeyer flasks, tissue culture flasks, petri dishes, staining trays, and other standard laboratory vessels. The 19mm orbit is the optimal orbit diameter for providing complete culture mixing and dissolved oxygen delivery in Erlenmeyer flasks across the full speed range of 30–300 RPM, making the Orbi-Shaker™ the standard choice for bacterial and yeast culture, protein expression, and any other application requiring efficient gas transfer and uniform nutrient distribution.
The brushless motor of the BT3001 is a significant reliability advantage over belt-driven orbital shakers — eliminating the most common failure points of conventional shakers (belt wear, stretching, and breakage) for more consistent, maintenance-free operation over the instrument's service life. The included 13" x 12" non-slip rubber mat platform is ideal for low-speed applications including tissue culture flask mixing (below 100 RPM), petri dish incubation, and gel staining/destaining. The optional MAGic Clamp™ platform (BT3000-MR, sold separately) enables high-speed flask mixing with instant tool-free magnetic clamp exchange in sizes for 50 mL through 2L Erlenmeyer flasks, tube racks, and microplates.
