The R4045 delivers exactly the same extraordinary programming flexibility as the R4040 Mini — the same variable speed range of 1 to 80 RPM, the same 10+ operating modes including full 360° rotation, pause, oscillating/mixing, reversing, vibrating, and platform rocking, and the same two powerful C1 and C2 Custom Modes that allow users to program sequential combinations of any available actions in user-defined succession for nearly infinite automated mixing protocol flexibility. The timer provides up to 99 hours and 59 minutes of unattended operation — enabling fully automated multi-step mixing protocols of virtually any duration. The only meaningful difference between the R4045 and the R4040 Mini is the platform size and resulting tube capacity: the R4045's wider 16.1" platform accommodates up to 84 x 1.5 mL tubes, 22 x 15 mL tubes, or 12 x 50 mL tubes simultaneously — approximately 40% more capacity than the Mini across all tube formats.
The R4045 includes a starter set of tube holders: 2 packs of 15 x 1.5 mL holders, 2 packs of 4 x 15 mL holders, and 2 packs of 6 x 50 mL holders — providing immediate out-of-the-box capacity for all three standard tube sizes.
