Product Description
Getting high-molecular-weight genomic DNA out of yeast and filamentous fungi can be a struggle, but this Zymo Research kit makes it routine. It combines enzymatic cell wall digestion with spin-column cleanup to deliver usable DNA from a wide variety of species, including Aspergillus, Candida, Pichia, Saccharomyces and Schizosaccharomyces.
This listing is for catalog number D2002: YeaStar Genomic DNA Kit, 40 Preps. Cells are first digested with Zymolyase, then lysed, and the DNA is bound to a Zymo-Spin column, washed and eluted. A standard prep typically returns about 7 to 20 µg of DNA with a size range of roughly 35 to 60 kb. The purified DNA is suitable for Southern blotting, PCR, restriction digestion and similar analyses. LIGHT LABS ships genuine Zymo Research products with knowledgeable support from our Englewood, Colorado team.
