Product Description
Measuring conversion efficiency inside the very tube that holds your sample gives a truer picture than a separate control reaction. This plasmid-based set is designed for that purpose, and it also lets you blend methylated and unmethylated DNA in defined ratios to build calibration curves for quantitative methylation assays.
This listing is for catalog number D5017: Methylated & Non-methylated pUC19 DNA Set. Non-methylated pUC19 is isolated from a Dam-, Dcm- bacterial strain, while methylated pUC19 has been enzymatically modified at every cytosine within CpG dinucleotides by CpG methylase. Specifically designed primers accompany the DNAs. Spike a small amount of plasmid into sample DNA before bisulfite treatment, or mix the two forms to generate reference standards of known methylation level. LIGHT LABS ships genuine Zymo Research products with knowledgeable support from our Englewood, Colorado team.
Key Features
- Spike-in design – Can be added directly to samples to monitor conversion in the same reaction.
- Calibration mixtures – Combine methylated and non-methylated plasmid to create known methylation levels.
- Methylation-free source – Non-methylated pUC19 comes from a Dam-, Dcm- strain.
- Full CpG methylation – Methylated pUC19 is modified at all CpG cytosines by CpG methylase.
- Primers included – A designed primer set accompanies the control DNAs.
