The Excel Scientific AlumaSeal® 384™ F-384-100 is a pierceable aluminum foil microplate sealing film specifically dimensioned for 384-well plates — delivering reliable sealing for PCR thermal cycling and cold storage at -80°C in the high-density plate format used by high-throughput screening, compound management, and genomics workflows. Specifically Dimensioned for 384-Well Plates The F-384-100 is sized precisely for 384-well microplates — one of the most widely used high-density plate formats in HTS, compound library management, genomics, and qPCR workflows. The 137.3 × 82.5mm dimensions provide sufficient sealing area to cover all 384 wells with a secure, uniform foil seal that minimizes evaporation, prevents cross-contamination between wells, and protects samples from light and atmospheric contamination. PCR and Cold Storage — Both Supported The AlumaSeal® 384™ supports both PCR thermal cycling and cold storage at -80°C — a critical advantage for HTS labs that run 384-well plate PCR assays and also require sealed plate storage at ultra-low temperatures between processing steps. A single foil seal type covers the complete workflow from thermal cycling through frozen storage without requiring separate seal inventories for each application.
Pierceable — Robotic Probe and Pipette Tip Compatible The aluminum foil construction of the F-384-100 is pierceable with standard pipette tips and robotic liquid handling probes — allowing direct well access for sample addition and retrieval in automated workflows without removing the seal. This is essential for 384-well compound management and HTS workflows where robotic probes must access individual wells while the plate remains sealed, and where manually removing and replacing foil seals between each access step would be impractical at this plate density.
Single End Tab — No Perforations The F-384-100 features a single end tab with no perforations — providing grip during application without requiring tab removal after positioning. The single-tab design keeps application fast and efficient in high-throughput environments where speed of plate sealing is operationally important.
No Heat Sealer Required — Hand or Plate Sealing Roller Application The AlumaSeal® 384™ is applied by hand pressure or with a plate sealing roller — no heat sealing instrument required. A plate sealing roller is recommended for ensuring a complete, uniform seal across all 384 wells, which is more difficult to achieve by hand alone at 384-well density compared to 96-well plates.
