The LTS bayonet attachment mechanism is different from the friction-fit cone connection used by all other pipette brands — LTS tips are not interchangeable with universal-fit tips, and non-LTS tips cannot be used with LTS pipettors. ZAP™ Patented Aerosol Filter — 10µm Pore, Robotically Inserted Incorporating a robotically inserted 10 µm filter with a sponge-like porous pathway ZAP Slik tips have such a small pore they even block fluids in the unlikely event that you should over-pipet. The ZAP™ filter is robotically inserted into every tip during manufacturing — eliminating the human variability of manual filter insertion and ensuring consistent filter placement and performance in every tip across every rack. The 10µm average pore size is small enough to capture aerosol droplets, biological particles, and even radioactive nucleotides before they can reach the pipettor barrel — providing the highest level of aerosol protection available in a 20µL barrier tip.

No Cellulose Gum, Toluene, or Colored Dyes — Pure Filter, Zero Sample Interference ZAP Slik Aerosol Filter Pipet Tips have been proven in independent studies to block aerosol contamination. But unlike some leading brands of self sealing aerosol resistant pipet tips they have no cellulose gum, toluene solvent, or colored dyes in the filter to mix with and contaminate your sample. Many competing barrier tip brands use cellulose-based filters that contain gum binders, organic solvents, or colored indicator dyes — all of which can leach into the sample stream and inhibit PCR, alter enzyme activity, or introduce colored artifacts into optical assays. The ZAP™ filter contains none of these additives — only pure high-molecular-weight polyethylene.

ZAP™ Filter Will Not Wick Fluids — Safe at Any Pipettor Angle ZAP tips will not wick fluids like cellulose filled aerosol resistant tips so you don't have to worry about how you hold your pipettor. Cellulose-based filters absorb and wick liquid along the filter matrix when the pipettor is tilted or inverted — potentially transporting sample liquid toward the pipettor barrel. The ZAP™ polyethylene filter is hydrophobic and does not wick, allowing the pipettor to be used at any angle without risk of liquid migration through the filter.

SuperSlik® Low Retention Polypropylene — Up to 10 Times Less Fluid Retention Our SuperSlik polypropylene increases the hydrophobicity of tips surfaces so they have up to 10 times less fluid retention. At 20µL volumes, the quantity of liquid retained on the inner tip surface after dispensing represents a meaningful percentage of the total dispensed volume. SuperSlik® polypropylene is a proprietary surface-modified polymer that dramatically increases tip hydrophobicity — minimizing liquid adhesion, maximizing sample delivery, and improving both accuracy and reproducibility at the 20µL scale. The combination of ZAP™ aerosol filtration and SuperSlik® low retention in a single tip means labs no longer need to choose between aerosol protection and low retention performance.

RoHS Compliant — No Additive Migration Into Sample ZAP Slik tips are RoHS compliant, unlike other low retention tips, so you don't have to worry that additives will migrate into your sample. Many low retention tips achieve their surface properties through the addition of processing aids, slip agents, or surface modifiers that are not RoHS compliant and can leach into samples — particularly problematic for sensitive enzymatic and molecular biology applications. The SuperSlik® polymer achieves its low retention performance intrinsically, without additives, making the 1143-965-008 RoHS compliant and safe for the most sensitive molecular biology workflows.

Autoclavable — ZAP™ Filter Survives Steam Sterilization Unlike self sealing aerosol tips ZAP tips can be autoclaved in a steam autoclave. The ZAP™ polyethylene filter matrix withstands autoclave sterilization at 122°C — allowing tips and racks to be re-sterilized when required for regulated or clinical applications. Self-sealing aerosol-resistant tips with cellulose or gel-based filters cannot be autoclaved, as the heat and moisture destroy the filter structure. The polypropylene racks are also fully autoclavable.

ISO 11137 Sterile — Valid Sterilization for Diagnostic and Regulated Use Our ZAP tips in sterile racks, like all our other sterile products, receive valid sterilization processing compliant with ISO 11137. So unlike "pre-sterile" tips from other pipet tip suppliers you can use ZAP Slik tips for diagnostic and regulated procedures. ISO 11137 is the international standard for validation and routine control of radiation sterilization — a significantly higher sterilization standard than "pre-sterilized" or "irradiated" tips that have not undergone formal ISO 11137 validation. The 1143-965-008 is fully validated sterile and is not limited to Research Use Only — qualifying it for clinical diagnostic, IVD, and regulated laboratory procedures.
