ZAP™ Patented Aerosol Filter — Robotically Inserted 10µm Polyethylene Filter Matrix Incorporating a robotically inserted 10 µm filter with a sponge-like porous pathway ZAP Slik tips have such a small pore they even block fluids in the unlikely event that you should over-pipet. The ZAP™ filter is robotically inserted into every tip during manufacturing — eliminating human variability in filter placement and ensuring consistent, reliable aerosol protection in every tip across every rack. The 10µm average pore size captures aerosol droplets, biological particles, and radioactive nucleotides before they can reach the pipettor barrel — the highest standard of aerosol protection available in a 200µL barrier tip.

No Cellulose Gum, Toluene, or Colored Dyes — Pure Filter, Zero Sample Interference ZAP Slik Aerosol Filter Pipet Tips have been proven in independent studies to block aerosol contamination. But unlike some leading brands of self sealing aerosol resistant pipet tips they have no cellulose gum, toluene solvent, or colored dyes in the filter to mix with and contaminate your sample. Many competing barrier tip brands use cellulose-based filters containing gum binders, organic solvents, or colored indicator dyes — all of which can leach into the sample stream, inhibit PCR, alter enzyme activity, or introduce optical artifacts in photometric assays. The ZAP™ filter contains only pure high-molecular-weight polyethylene — completely inert to all common aqueous laboratory reagents.

ZAP™ Filter Will Not Wick Fluids — Safe at Any Pipettor Angle ZAP tips will not wick fluids like cellulose filled aerosol resistant tips so you don't have to worry about how you hold your pipettor.  The ZAP™ polyethylene filter is hydrophobic and does not absorb or wick liquid along the filter matrix when the pipettor is tilted or inverted — eliminating the risk of liquid migration toward the pipettor barrel at any working angle.

SuperSlik® Low Retention Polypropylene — Up to 10 Times Less Fluid Retention Our SuperSlik polypropylene increases the hydrophobicity of tips surfaces so they have up to 10 times less fluid retention. At 200µL volumes, liquid retained on the inner tip surface after dispensing directly affects volume accuracy, reagent consumption, and downstream assay performance. SuperSlik® polypropylene's highly hydrophobic surface minimizes liquid adhesion — maximizing delivered volume, improving accuracy, and maximizing recovery of costly reagents including enzymes, antibodies, and RNA/DNA templates. RoHS Compliant — No Additive Migration Into Sample ZAP Slik tips are RoHS compliant, unlike other low retention tips, so you don't have to worry that additives will migrate into your sample. The SuperSlik® polymer achieves its low retention performance intrinsically — without the slip agents, processing aids, or surface modifiers used in competing low retention tips that can leach into samples and interfere with sensitive molecular biology assays.

Autoclavable — ZAP™ Filter Survives Steam Sterilization Unlike self sealing aerosol tips ZAP tips can be autoclaved in a steam autoclave. The pure polyethylene ZAP™ filter matrix withstands autoclave sterilization at 122°C — allowing tips and racks to be re-sterilized for regulated or clinical applications. Self-sealing aerosol-resistant tips with cellulose or gel-based filters cannot survive autoclaving.

ISO 11137 Sterile — Valid for Diagnostic and Regulated Use Our ZAP tips in sterile racks, like all our other sterile products, receive valid sterilization processing compliant with ISO 11137. So unlike "pre-sterile" tips from other pipet tip suppliers you can use ZAP Slik tips for diagnostic and regulated procedures. SO 11137-validated sterilization qualifies the 1144-965-008 for clinical diagnostic, IVD, and regulated laboratory procedures — not limited to Research Use Only.
