Product Description
Plant Tissue Culture Box, 4.75 x 4.75 x 4.75 in., Autoclavable by MTC Bio, 10/Pack | Cat # B3120
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Cat # B3120. MTC Bio Plant Tissue Culture Box, polycarbonate vessel
with polypropylene lid, autoclavable, 4.75 x 4.75 x 4.75 in., 10/pack.
The largest format in the MTC Bio plant culture box line -- designed
for large sample applications, high-capacity propagation, and species
requiring more media volume or vertical growth space than standard
GA-7 format vessels can provide. Clear polycarbonate construction
provides exceptional visibility for monitoring culture development
without opening the vessel. Secure-fitting polypropylene lid maintains
controlled culture conditions. Withstands repeated autoclaving cycles.
10 boxes per pack. Also available as 3 x 3 x 3 in. (B3075) and 3 x 3
x 4 in. (B3100). Distributed by LIGHT LABS.
HIGH-CAPACITY FORMAT -- WHEN GA-7 IS NOT ENOUGH
The standard Magenta GA-7 (3 x 3 x 4 in.) format suits most plant
tissue culture applications, but certain species and workflows require
the larger B3120 format:
LARGER MEDIA VOLUME: The 4.75 x 4.75 x 4.75 in. vessel holds
significantly more media than a GA-7 box -- reducing the frequency
of subculture intervals for slow-growing species or long-term
maintenance cultures. Fewer transfers means less contamination risk
and reduced labor cost in commercial propagation operations.
LARGER EXPLANTS AND PLANTLETS: Bulbous species, large-stemmed
monocots, and species with broad leaf canopy require horizontal and
vertical space that the GA-7 format cannot accommodate without
crowding. The B3120 format allows full development without foliage
contact with vessel walls.
MULTI-PLANT CULTURES: When multiple explants or plantlets are
cultured in the same vessel -- for clump propagation, bulb cluster
development, or multi-shoot protocols -- the larger footprint
prevents overcrowding that would limit growth and increase
competition for nutrients.
POLYCARBONATE CONSTRUCTION -- CLARITY AND DURABILITY:
VISIBILITY: Clear polycarbonate allows visual assessment of culture
status -- contamination, callus development, shoot emergence, root
formation, and media consumption -- without opening the lid.
AUTOCLAVABILITY: Polycarbonate withstands repeated autoclave cycles
(121°C, 15 psi) without warping or loss of clarity. Reusable for
multiple culture cycles. PP lid also autoclavable.
APPLICATIONS:
- Large-explant plant micropropagation
- High-capacity media cultures requiring longer subculture intervals
- Bulbous species and large-stemmed monocot propagation
- Multi-plant clump and cluster propagation
- Species with broad canopy requiring horizontal space
