The R1035 delivers identical performance to the 50-prep R1034 — rapid, sensitive isolation of high-quality viral RNA from plasma, serum, urine, saliva, blood, cell culture media, cellular suspensions, biopsies, swabs, and fecal samples in approximately 5 minutes without organic denaturants or proteases — in a 200-prep format with 4x more preps per case.
The Quick-RNA™ Viral Kit is specifically engineered for the unique challenges of viral RNA isolation from biological fluids: low copy number viral targets present against a complex background of host RNA, sample matrices that can inhibit downstream RT-qPCR, and the need for maximum sensitivity at the lowest possible elution volume. Zymo Research's proprietary Viral RNA Buffer lyses viral particles efficiently from all sample types while the Zymo-Spin™ IC Column selectively captures viral RNA and removes inhibitors in a streamlined bind-wash-elute procedure. The minimum ≥6 µL elution volume concentrates viral RNA to the highest possible level for maximum detection sensitivity — critical for low-titer viral samples where every copy counts.
DNA/RNA Shield™ (2X concentrate, 125 mL) is included — enabling safe point-of-collection inactivation of BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens, ambient temperature sample transport, and long-term preservation before processing. The 200-prep format makes the R1035 ideal for infectious disease research groups, virology labs, surveillance programs, and core facilities processing large numbers of viral samples on a regular basis.
