One end features a 19mm beveled edge flat blade for conventional harvesting from tissue culture flasks and dishes, while the opposite end features a curved J-Hook specifically designed for harvesting cells from the curved wells of 4, 6, 12, 24, and 48-well multi-well plates — where the J-Hook's curved profile conforms to the well wall geometry for complete cell removal.
The double-ended design saves time during cell harvest workflows by allowing the researcher to switch between harvesting geometries without reaching for a second tool — simply flip the instrument. This is particularly valuable in high-throughput workflows where the same researcher may be harvesting from both flasks and multi-well plates in rapid succession. The flat blade end ensures even, flush contact with the flat growth surface of tissue culture flasks and dishes for consistent cell detachment across the entire growth area.
