The Plasteur® design preserves the key functional characteristics of a glass Pasteur pipet — fine tip for precise aspiration and controlled delivery, appropriate length for standard laboratory vessels, and excellent flow characteristics — in a safe, disposable polypropylene format.
A critical advantage of the 229271 vs. the polystyrene Plasteur® versions (229270/229275) is the polypropylene (PP) construction — a material choice that delivers superior chemical resistance to a wider range of solvents, acids, bases, and biological reagents than polystyrene, and — uniquely among plastic Pasteur pipets — can be autoclaved for applications where gamma-irradiated sterility alone is insufficient or where the pipets need to be re-sterilized. Available in two sizes — 5.75 inches (229271, individually wrapped) and 9 inches (229281, individually wrapped) — the CELLTREAT Plasteur® line covers all standard Pasteur pipet applications.
