The 229275 is the preferred choice for high-volume labs, core facilities, and microbiology or cell culture environments that use large numbers of Pasteur pipets on a routine basis and do not require individual wrapper sterility assurance for every pipet.
The Plasteur® design preserves the key functional characteristics of a traditional glass Pasteur pipet — fine tip for precise aspiration and controlled dropwise delivery, appropriate 5.75 inch length for standard laboratory vessels, and excellent flow characteristics — in a safe, disposable polystyrene format that eliminates the primary hazards associated with glass Pasteur pipets: shattering, glove puncture, and contamination from glass fragments. The polystyrene (PS) construction provides excellent optical clarity for visual inspection of aspirated or transferred samples, and the Plasteur® pipets are supplied sterile by gamma irradiation — no autoclaving required prior to use.
