Constructed from the same rigid, optically clear 50 µm polyester film with a 25 µm acrylic adhesive layer as the non-sterile 100SEALPLT, the STR-SEAL-PLT delivers all the hallmark SealPlate® performance benefits — secure sealing, edge effect elimination, wide temperature compatibility, and easy removal — with the added assurance of sterility for cell culture, clinical diagnostics, and other contamination-sensitive workflows.
The sterile format is the preferred choice for labs sealing tissue culture plates during incubation, working with primary cells or patient-derived samples where microbial contamination must be prevented, or any microplate workflow conducted under sterile conditions in a biosafety cabinet. As with all SealPlate® films, the rigid polyester construction eliminates the "edge effect" — the phenomenon where outer wells experience significantly faster evaporation than inner wells when sealed with loose-fitting plate lids — by creating direct adhesive contact with every single well's sealing surface. This equalizes evaporation rates across all 96 wells and improves assay reproducibility, particularly important for quantitative ELISA assays and cell-based assays run under sterile conditions.
Rated for use across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +120°C, the STR-SEAL-PLT is suitable for refrigerators, freezers, CO₂ incubators, and room temperature workflows.
