Two Color-Coded Lysis Buffers — Visual Confirmation for Every Sample Type The Quick-DNA™ Miniprep Plus Kit includes two distinct color-coded lysis buffers for different sample types:

• BioFluid & Cell Buffer (Red) — for biological fluids, whole blood, saliva, cultured cells, and other liquid biological samples. The red color provides immediate visual identification of the correct buffer for fluid-based samples
• Solid Tissue Buffer (Blue) — for solid tissue requiring Proteinase K digestion. The blue color provides immediate visual identification when switching to the solid tissue workflow

This color-coded buffer system eliminates one of the most common sources of extraction errors — using the wrong lysis buffer for a given sample type — by providing an unambiguous visual distinction between the fluid/cell and solid tissue workflows.

Proteinase K Included — Solid Tissue Digestion Ready Proteinase K & Storage Buffer — 20mg — store at −20°C after mixing. The inclusion of Proteinase K in the D4068 is the defining feature that enables solid tissue DNA extraction — a capability not available in the Quick-DNA™ MicroPrep kits. Proteinase K digests structural proteins in solid tissue samples, releasing genomic DNA for binding to the Zymo-Spin™ IIC-XLR Column.
