The BenchWaver™'s undulating motion is fundamentally different from both conventional 2D rocking and conventional 3D nutating motion. While a 2D rocker produces a simple side-to-side wave and a nutating mixer produces a consistent circular tilt, the BenchWaver™ combines both motions simultaneously — the platform rocks back and forth while simultaneously rotating in a circular pattern, creating a complex, continuously shifting three-dimensional wave that moves in all directions across the platform surface at once. At low speeds (5–20 RPM) and minimal tilt, this motion produces the gentle, non-foaming, uniform fluid coverage preferred for blot washing, gel staining, and hybridization — ensuring complete, even reagent distribution across the entire blot or gel surface without disturbing delicate membranes.
