The standard 150mm dish height is 20mm (229653) or 25mm (229652), making the 229656 the only 150mm x 15mm format available — ideal for applications where a shallower dish profile is preferred, where incubator shelf height clearance is at a premium, or where a lower-profile dish is required for compatibility with specific automated plate handling equipment.
Despite the lower sidewall height, the 229656 delivers the same generous 153 cm² of non-treated growth area and 25–28 mL working volume as other 150mm dishes — providing ample space for large-scale bacterial culture, yeast and fungal plating, phage plaque assays, and other high-throughput microbiology applications. The innovative offset bottom design sets the floor of the dish slightly lower than the rim — allowing users to easily pick up the dish from the bottom rather than accidentally grasping the lid, a critical ergonomic advantage when handling many dishes simultaneously in busy laboratory environments.
Manufactured from medical-grade virgin polystyrene and sterilized by gamma irradiation, the 229656 is certified nonpyrogenic and RNase-/DNase-free.
