With a 154 cm² tissue culture treated growth area and a wide working volume range of 52–132 mL, the 229652 is purpose-built for applications requiring either maximum media volume for long-term culture maintenance or maximum headspace for specialized culture conditions — including large-scale suspension-adapted adherent cell cultures, gas-permeable membrane culture applications, and any protocol requiring the deepest available 150mm dish.
The tall 25mm sidewall of the 229652 provides two key advantages over the 229651 (150mm x 20mm): significantly more working volume headroom — with a maximum working volume of 132 mL vs. the 25–28 mL of the 229651 — and extra vertical headspace above the media surface, reducing the risk of media splashing during handling and providing additional clearance for suspension or semi-suspension culture conditions. As Quality Biological notes, this tall dish allows for the use of more media or provides extra headspace depending on the application. The TC-treated surface delivers a consistent, uniform hydrophilic surface for improved adherent cell attachment across the full 154 cm² growth area.
