The 229596 is the with-lid counterpart to the 229597 (without lid), giving researchers the choice of lid format for their specific workflow requirements.
The non-treated polystyrene surface of the 229596 is chemically inert — making it ideal for colorimetric ELISAs, absorbance-based cell viability assays, compound dilution and storage, bacterial culture, and other applications where protein adsorption to the well surface must be minimized or precisely controlled. Flat bottom wells deliver a uniform optical path across the entire well surface for accurate plate reader measurements. The included lid features a raised rim on each well that nests into the rings of the single-direction lid to reduce evaporation and limit cross-contamination risk during incubation and storage. The lid also features a stacking ring for added stability when handling tall stacks of plates.
Manufactured from crystal-clear polystyrene and sterilized by gamma irradiation, the 229596 is certified nonpyrogenic and RNase-/DNase-free. Alpha-numeric well markings (A–H, 1–12) on every plate enable easy identification of individual wells. Every case is printed with the lot number for quality traceability.
