LIGHT LABS is proud to offer the Zymo Research Quick-DNA/RNA™ Miniprep Plus Kit (Cat # D7003) — the most versatile and complete simultaneous DNA and RNA isolation kit available, combining Quick-DNA/RNA™ technology with DNA/RNA Shield™ preservation technology and Proteinase K to enable easy, reliable, and rapid co-isolation of high-quality genomic DNA and total RNA from virtually any biological sample type. The Plus Kit builds on the standard Quick-DNA/RNA Miniprep (D7001) by adding DNA/RNA Shield™ (2X concentrate), Proteinase K with PK Digestion Buffer, and upgraded Zymo-Spin™ IIICG columns — unlocking simultaneous DNA and RNA isolation from whole blood, solid tissue, and other protein-rich, tough-to-lyse samples that the standard kit cannot process.
The unique dual-column workflow separates DNA and RNA in a single pass — the Spin-Away™ Filter (yellow) captures genomic DNA while the Zymo-Spin™ IIICG column captures total RNA, yielding both nucleic acid fractions simultaneously from the same lysate. DNase I is included for on-column DNase treatment to produce DNA-free RNA for applications such as RT-PCR, RNA-seq, and microarray analysis. Both the genomic DNA and total RNA are of the highest quality and are immediately ready for any downstream application. Samples preserved in DNA/RNA Shield™, RNAprotect®, Allprotect®, UTM®/VTM®, and RNAlater™ can be processed directly with this kit without a separate removal step.
