This additional growth area allows researchers to culture more cells per flask passage, improving throughput and efficiency without requiring a larger flask format. The 229351 is the standard-depth version of the CELLTREAT 182cm² flask — for labs requiring extended media volume and longer culture durations, the deep volume variant (229381, the "Weekend Flask") is also available.
The tissue culture treated surface delivers a consistent, uniform hydrophilic surface — manufactured as a negatively charged hydrophilic surface using USP Class VI virgin polystyrene in a class 100,000 cleanroom — resulting in flat, striation-free growth surfaces that maximize usable growth area and optical transparency. The molded interlocking T-design on the flask base enables secure, space-efficient stacking with other compatible CELLTREAT flask sizes (75, 182, and 300cm², and 250, 600, and 850mL formats). The large opening canted neck design with moderate angles provides easy access to the entire flask surface for pipettes and cell scrapers. The green HDPE vent cap with 0.22µm hydrophobic membrane maintains sterility while allowing consistent gas exchange.
