The R1058 is the 200-prep high-volume format of the Plus kit — ideal for high-throughput labs and core facilities running frequent RNA isolation workflows from diverse sample types who require the best economy per prep.
The critical difference between the Quick-RNA™ MiniPrep Plus (R1058) and the standard Quick-RNA™ MiniPrep (R1055) is the inclusion of DNA/RNA Shield™ (2X concentrate) and Proteinase K with PK Digestion Buffer — two components that dramatically expand sample type compatibility. While the standard R1055 kit is optimized for cells and soft tissue, the Plus kit's DNA/RNA Shield™ inactivates RNases and preserves RNA integrity during sample collection and processing — and the Proteinase K digests proteins and disrupts tough sample matrices including solid tissue, whole blood, and RNase-rich samples that would otherwise require additional processing steps. Together, these additions make the R1058 the true universal RNA isolation kit — one kit, any sample type.
All RNA produced by the R1058 is ready for any downstream application including Next-Generation Sequencing, RT-qPCR, microarray hybridization, and Northern blotting. Compatible with samples preserved in DNA/RNA Shield™, RNAprotect®, Allprotect®, and RNAlater™. DNase I is included for optional on-column DNA digestion.
