The CELLTREAT® 229703 is a complete 500mL sterile vacuum filter system — bottle top filter with 0.45µm PES membrane, 500mL solution bottle, and HDPE screw cap — designed for vacuum filtration of 500mL volumes where particle removal, solution clarification, and pre-filtration are required without a full sterile filtration requirement. New! 500mL Filters feature expanded 90mm diameter membrane to increase flow and reduce clogs for faster filtration. 90mm diameter membrane has 44% more filtration area than previous membrane. The polyethersulfone (PES) membrane provides high flow rate with low protein binding. Complete vacuum filtration systems include a polystyrene bottletop filter and solution bottle with high-density polyethylene screw-on cap. Angled hose barb adapter fits 6-, 9-, and 12-mm ID tubing and prevents filter from tipping. Filter systems are supplied sterile (gamma irradiated); packaged individually. RNase-free, DNase-free, and non-pyrogenic. Shelf life: 36 months. 12 filter systems per case.

⚠️ Important — 0.45µm Does NOT Provide Sterile Filtration The 229703 0.45µm filter is designed for solution clarification and particle removal — not sterile filtration. For sterile filtration of cell culture media and buffers at 500mL scale, the 0.22µm 229707 is the correct product. The 229703 is appropriate for HPLC mobile phase preparation, solution pre-filtration, buffer clarification, and any 500mL application where removal of particles ≥0.45µm is required without a sterility requirement.

The inherently hydrophilic and low protein binding PES surface minimizes loss of proteins and biologically active components during filtration, making the 229703 suitable for clarifying protein solutions, enzyme preparations, and biological buffers where sample recovery is important.
