The CELLTREAT® 229709 is a 50mL centrifuge tube filter with 0.45µm PES membrane — a uniquely practical filter format that eliminates the sample transfer step required by standard bottle top filter systems by filtering directly into a standard 50mL conical centrifuge tube. The 0.45µm pore size of the 229709 is designed for solution clarification and particle removal — removing particles ≥0.45µm including yeast, large bacteria, and cell debris. The inherently hydrophilic PES membrane provides fast flow rates under vacuum with low protein binding — minimizing loss of proteins and biologically active components during filtration.

⚠️ Important — 0.45µm Does NOT Provide Sterile Filtration The 229709 0.45µm membrane is designed for clarification and particle removal — not sterile filtration. For sterile filtration of cell culture media or biological solutions requiring removal of bacteria and mycoplasma, the 0.22µm version (229710) is the correct product. The 229709 is appropriate for applications where clarification, pre-filtration, or particle removal is the objective.
